Croydon’s long had “bit of a rep”. Not helped by stories of body parts in a suitcase found in the bus station, the riots of 2011 or the gang culture and associated knife crime. Add to this the ugly post-war architecture and you have a place often mocked by outsiders.
I lived there from 2002 until 2013, but continue to still visit, and never once had an issue there. I always found it alive and vibrant. These photographs were made between 2007 and 2020. This is a Cronx tale.
