Looking back at a random photo from the archives, taken on this very day in the past.

A man takes shelter from a sudden shower, inside a telephone box, in Rabac in Croatia on 19 September 2012.
Whether it be the bright orange umbrella sticking out, the colours throughout the scene or the way the palm of the mystery man’s hand is pressed against the glass, there was enough here to interest me in raising my camera and taking a shot.
In some ways it reminds me of the kind of image Saul Leiter may have photographed back in the 1950s.
It’s certainly more unusual in that I shot it on the vertical axis, not something I regularly do – but that’s always dictated by the overall composition of the scene.
